Government United States of America Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

Democracy is not a spectator sport! The only way the Federal, State and Local governments will improve is if we participate in improving them.

On signing the Declaration of Independence...

We must indeed all hang together, or most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.

Benjamin Franklin, July 4, 1776

From his first inaugural address...

Let us, then, with courage and confidence pursue our own federal and republican principles, our attachment to our union and representative government.

Thomas Jefferson, March 4, 1801

Ever Vigilant

It's important that we all have an understanding of what the U.S. Congress does.

The activities going on up the street (i.e. Pennsylvania Avenue) at the White House always prove to be, at the least, interesting.

The third branch of our federal republic's representative form of government is judicial where the US Supreme Court provides the legal decision balance to keep our politicians subject to the weight of their activity.

Whether it's good or bad depends on your point of view, but there is a maze of U.S. Agencies that make up our federal bureaucracy.

I live in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and follow what happens in my state's capital city, Harrisburg.

Because all politics are local, I keep informed about Luzerne County and Hazle Township affairs as well as my nearest local city Hazleton.
